Fort William Gardens was filled with a din of chattering voices on Tuesday as more than 150 secondary school students learned about services available to them in Thunder Bay.

Over 50 community organizations set up shop for the Working Together for Student Success orientation to help welcome new and returning Nishnawbe Aski Nation First Nations students to the city.

The event is not new, but the venue is, as more space was needed for the annual gathering to accommodate all the organizations.

“This event has been in the works for the last three weeks or so,” said Alvin Fiddler, grand chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation. “The feedback from the community has been tremendous.”
