First Nations families weigh children’s education vs. safety

Families in remote First Nations of Ontario face a difficult choice when it comes to their children’s safety and education. If kids want to finish high school, they have to leave home and that means opening themselves up to potential racist abuse, or worse. This past spring two First Nations teenagers were found dead in Thunder Bay, renewing fears that these children may not be safe. Welcome to The National, the flagship nightly newscast of CBC News.
