First Nations leaders grill minister at AFN forum – Edmonton Sun

More time is needed to work with aboriginal leaders to overhaul current land claim policies.

That was the message from chiefs and Indigenous leaders from across the country as they held Crown–Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett’s feet to the fire at the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) forum on four policies and nation-building.

“I don’t have any questions but I’m going to tell you how to do your job,” said Grand Chief Arlen Dumas of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, when he took the mic on Thursday. “Get out of our way. Give us our money, give us our land and we’ll take care of it ourselves.”
