DMEC Workshop Series: Exploring undercover in a Greenfield setting – the Quesnel Terrane in east-central British Columbia
Wednesday, March 7, 2012
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South BuildingPre-registration required – see below
Workshop Description:
Decennial Mineral Exploration Conferences (DMEC) is an outgrowth of the very successful Exploration 07 Symposium held in Toronto (Sept 2007) that drew together over 1,000 delegates to review the state of the art in minerals exploration technology.
During the PDAC 2011 Convention, DMEC sponsored its first workshop under the theme “Tools and techniques to explore undercover”. This inaugural workshop examined the outcomes of a multi-year exploration program in the Abitibi that highlighted the challenges of exploration undercover in mature terrains.
For 2012, we will be examining exploration undercover in a greenfield setting – the Quesnel terrain in east-central British Columbia that is being actively explored for Cu-Au porphyry deposits. Presentations will examine the geological, geochemical and geophysical methodologies being used to search for new deposits. This workshop is being organized in collaboration with Geoscience BC.
Organizers: Charles Beaudry, Xmet Inc. & Ken Witherly, Condor Consulting Inc
