The Government of Yukon and MacBride Museum are partnering to host a series of talks in celebration of Women’s History month. Each Monday in October, with the exception of Thanksgiving, speakers will present on an aspect of Yukon h(er)story through the lens of gender.

The Resilience and Resistance-themed talks will begin at 7pm at MacBride Museum with short presentations from a variety of Yukon leaders in the Indigenous, Francophone, Filipino and LGBTQ2S+ communities. Topics will range from disenfranchisement of Indigenous women to language preservation and activism. The talks are open to the public and free to attend.

The series is an initiative of the Government of Yukon’s Women’s Directorate, in partnership with the MacBride Museum of Yukon History.

“MacBride is pleased to partner with the Government of Yukon to showcase these stories during Women’s History month. We partner with a variety of organizations throughout the year to bring Yukon’s stories to the public and visitors. We aim to bring attention to Yukon stories that might not otherwise be heard through presentation events including Wayback Wednesdays, summer lectures and partnership series such as this one.”
