Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce is preparing for their biggest home build in Neyaashiinigmiing, Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.

You could say it’s their most ambitious build to date.

Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce is preparing for their biggest home build in Neyaashiinigmiing, Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.

In fact, the organization plans to construct not one home, but 10 homes at the site.

Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Greg Fryer, says the build is expected to keep them busy for at least the next two years or so.

“They’re creating a small development or subdivision at Neyaashiinigmiing to serve families because their waiting list is growing for affordable housing,” says Fryer, adding,”we’re pretty excited about that, that they’ve asked us to be the builder; they have families that want to come back, and live there on their territory so we’re very excited to partner with them.”
