Hard work paying dividends for Team N.S. at North American Indigenous Games – The Chronicle Herald
For George Marshall, chef de mission for Team Mi’kmaw Nova Scotia, plenty of hard work over the years is starting to pay dividends in a more engaged group of youth who want to lead more healthy lifestyles.
It’s also why Marshall is feeling very good about the group headed to southern Ontario for the North American Indigenous Games later this week.
It includes 180 athletes, 56 coaches, managers and chaperones and a dozen mission staff.
“I’ve been involved in sports for a long time and this is the biggest group and I would say the most talented group we have put together,” said Marshall, chairman of the Aboriginal Sport Circle.
