Hazardous Ittijjagiaq Trail Conditions

by ahnationtalk on May 19, 201777 Views

19 May 2017

Snow and ice conditions are deteriorating on the Ittijjagiaq Trail between Iqaluit and Kimmirut in Katannilik Territorial Park. This poses a serious risk and users are strongly encouraged to stay off the trail.

Due to the warm temperatures and recent rainfall, the trail conditions are wet, slushy and very hazardous. The trail conditions continue to deteriorate daily. If you decide to use the trail, plan accordingly with the proper safety gear and, if possible, travel with a companion.

For more information about trail conditions, contact Nunavut Territorial Parks in Iqaluit at 867-975-2350 or in Kimmirut at 867-939-2416.
