Richard Weston, a descendant of the Meriam people of the Torres Straight, CEO of Healing Foundation, speaks of the Healing Foundation and the Healing Our Spirit Worldwide (HOSW) 2018 event.

 

Richard speaks about the 8^th HOSW gathering, which is held every 3 to 4 years, and the coming together or gathering of nations from across the world. He describes the event as one that is packed with inherent and deliberate cross cultural learning and sharing that is rooted in collective or shared experience. Weston continues describing the Healing Foundation’s overlapping ideals and purpose in contributing, healing, delivering hope, and providing a sense of purpose into Indigenous people’s lives. He further elaborates on how so many Indigenous peoples of the world, like those he works with at the Healing Foundation, are affected by intergenerational trauma and how we are all working to heal and move forward in the ways of cultural strength and beauty.
