Human remains found in Makkovik identified

Human remains found just outside Makkovik on May 18, 2019, have been identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as 18-year-old Jake Basto.
Mr. Basto was 18 years of age when he went missing from Makkovik on August 9, 2014.
Makkovik RCMP advises there is no foul play in his death.
Our thoughts are with Mr. Basto’s family and friends during this difficult time.
