The imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival is an international festival that celebrates the latest works by Aboriginal peoples on the forefront of innovation in film, video, radio, and new media. Each fall, the festival presents a selection of the most compelling and distinctive Aboriginal works from around the globe. The works accepted reflect the diversity of the world’s Aboriginal nations and illustrate the vitality and excellence of our art and culture in contemporary media. imagineNATIVE is the largest festival of its kind in Canada and the world.

About the 2009 imagineNATIVE Northern Ontario Tour
Each spring the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival tours its Northern Ontario Tour to the Algoma, Manitoulin, Nipissing, Parry Sound and James Bay regions of Northern Ontario. imagineNATIVE presents the best youth works and hit feature films from its previous year, contributing to the artistic vibrancy of non-urban Aboriginal communities outside of Toronto and sharing works that reflect Aboriginal perspectives and stories.

This tour is made possible in part by a grant from the Ontario Arts Council’s Touring and Collaborations program. Additional support provided by Air Creebec and the Weeneebeg Aboriginal Film + Video Festival
