Indigenous advocates receive Order of Canada – APTN News

Some Indigenous leaders, known for criticizing the government, received the country’s highest honour Thursday.
Matthew Coon Come, a residential school survivor, and Beverley Jacobs, an activist, were surprised they were recognized with an Order of Canada.
Okanese First Nation Chief Marie-Anne Day Walker-Pelletier was also among the recipients.
