The Max Bell School of Public Policy and Policy Options assembled a panel to to discuss Indigenous-Crown Relations in light of the upcoming federal election. This event took place the Rideau Club in Ottawa on April 2, 2019. The panelists included K̓ÁWÁZIⱢ (Marilyn Slett), Citizen of the Heiltsuk Nation and the elected chief of the Heiltsuk Tribal Council. Brock Pitawanakwat, an Anishinaabe from Whitefish River First Nation, associate professor and program coordinator of Indigenous Studies in York University’s Department of Equity Studies. Emily Riddle, a nehiyaw (Plains Cree) writer, researcher and policy analyst from Treaty 6. The panel was moderated by Jennifer Ditchburn, editor-in-chief of Policy Options magazine.
