Interview opportunity: Pioneer non-profit and one of London’s best kept secrets celebrates 20 years of environment and wildlife support
TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) has been making a difference in the Markham area for 20 years. Join Mary Desjardins for a community forum on Thursday, September 16 at the Markham Theatre for Performing Arts.
WHAT:
TD Friends of the Environment Foundation 20th Anniversary Community Forum
WHY:
Since 1990, TD FEF has provided more than $1.3 million to fund over 340 environment and wildlife initiatives in the Markham area. Examples include the Town of Markham’s Trees for Tomorrow Program; 10,000 Trees for the Rouge to restore five acres of vacant land to natural forest cover; and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters for various “bring back the salmon” programs.
In response to the growing demand for environment and wildlife funding in the Markham area, Mary will outline how non-profits, schools, municipalities and First Nations communities can benefit from TD FEF funding for projects.
The event will also encourage guests to share ideas on the greatest opportunities and most pressing needs for environment and wildlife investments in the Markham area.
