IRC: Budgeting, Reporting, and Monitoring Course Coming Soon To All ISR Communities

Applications are now being accepted for all upcoming Budgeting, Reporting, and Monitoring courses held throughout the Inuvialuit Settlement Region.
These courses are offered in partnership with GNWT MACA’s School of Community Government and Crowe MacKay LLP.

Participants will review the budgeting process to ensure they have the required skills and knowledge to plan for and implement their organization’s budget. The course will include the following:
- Participants will learn how to allocate the budget on a monthly basis.
- Revenue allocations and expenditure cycles will be explained.
- Participants will learn how to use the annual budget as a tool to compare monthly actual expenditures to budgeted amounts.
- Focus on the budget review process and the tools used to evaluate the budget and the overall health of the organization.
Additional topics covered include the techniques of variance analysis, reporting tools such as the Interim Reporting Tool, and assessment of significant budget factors.
This course is one segment of a 10-course certificate in Community Finance.
