IRC: Looking For Employer Proposals: Skills Link, Summer Work Experience Programs

Inuvialuit Regional Corporation is now accepting employer proposals for two wage subsidy programs.
Summer Work Experience Program
This program provides wage subsidies to employers who provide meaningful summer employment for Inuvialuit students.
Eligibility requirements for employers:
- Must hire an Inuvialuit student between the ages of 15 and 30 who was registered in full-time studies prior to the summer and is returning to full-time studies in September
- Must provide employment for 30 to 40 hours per week

Skills Link Program
This program provides wage subsidies to employers who provide skill development employment opportunities for Inuvialuit youth.
Eligibility requirements for employers:
- Must hire an Inuvialuit beneficiary between the ages of 15 and 30
- Must provide employment for 30 to 40 hours per week, for a period of up to 11 months

Both programs are eligible for funding. Successful employers in the non-profit sector will receive 100 per cent of the minimum wage, plus mandatory employment-related costs. Successful employers in the private sector will receive 50 per cent of the minimum wage.
Proposals must be submitted to Human Resources by Friday, June 2, 2017. If needed, proposal templates can be provided on request.
