News Release – June 20, 2008

On June 20, Information Services Corporation (ISC) announced an ongoing partnership with Regina’s Albert Community School at joint National Aboriginal Day celebrations held at the school.

“The partnership provides ISC with the opportunity to help enhance and support the educational experience of the students that attend the core-area school,” ISC acting president and CEO Jeff Stusek said. “It will also provide ISC’s employees with many volunteerism and mentorship opportunities.”The Regina Public School Board formally approved the partnership on May 20. ISC’s first initiative under the partnership was a $10,000 donation for a new playground structure at the school. ISC employees, along with members of the school and local community, worked together to build the structure in early May. The new playground was also officially unveiled at the National Aboriginal Day ceremony held at Albert Community School on June 20.

“We have really enjoyed the involvement of the ISC staff in helping support our efforts to enhance our playground and provide unique learning opportunities for our students,” Albert Community School principal Luc Lerminiaux said. “What has impressed me most about the partnership is the resolve of the entire ISC staff to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth through volunteerism and collaborative projects.”

Albert Community School is an inner-city elementary school with pupils from kindergarten to grade eight. The school was founded in 1905, and currently has 220 students.
