Kasechewan Totally Evacuated Again Due To Flooding – 89.5 The Lake FM

The remote First Nation of Kashechewan has been evacuated due to flooding concerns.

Some 15-hundred residents are now displaced from their homes.

The Canadian Military helped completed the evacuations this week, transporting 100-people to Kapuskasing.

Canadian Rangers have been assisting the community with voluntary evacuation since April 26th and a Griffon helicopter and a Hercules aircraft were brought in on Monday due to the risk of floodwater overtaking the airport.
