She has written about everything from Native appropriations, pop-culture, to politics. It was the blending of all of her passions, which led Lisa to start her blog, Urban Native Girl Stuff, (UNGS) which is all about pop-culture with an Indigenous twist. It was born in 2007 out of a desire to fuel her fire online and engage in writing, social media, and connect with a new audience. She talks about the organizations that helped her to get where she is today, such as The Aboriginal Human Resources Council and the importance of embracing your Aboriginal heritage by getting involved in the community.
