Province Provides Support To Annual Festival

TORONTO, Dec. 1 – The annual Canadian Aboriginal Festival is an excellent opportunity for people to learn more about Aboriginal culture and traditions, Michael Bryant, Ontario’s Minister of Aboriginal Affairs said today as he joined the celebrations at the Rogers Centre. “The Canadian Aboriginal Festival is one of the best events of its kind in the world for highlighting the culture and traditions of Aboriginal people,” said Bryant. “It is really a way of welcoming all people to become more aware of Aboriginal culture, its rich traditions, and its significance in our shared history.”

Ontario is providing $40,000 in support of the Festival. “Our government is pleased to support this unique and powerful celebration that gives voice to the Aboriginal heritage and stories,” said Bryant.

“There is no better way to celebrate and reflect on the richness of the diverse Aboriginal cultures represented here this weekend.”
