Media Advisory – Chippewas of Rama to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Diagnostic Imaging Health Education Training Facility
RAMA, ON, June 25 – CHIPPEWAS OF RAMA FIRST NATION – Chief Sharon Stinson Henry and the Chippewas of Rama First Nation will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for a diagnostic imaging and health educational training facility to be built on Rama Mnjikaning First Nation land.This facility, which is scheduled to open in 2010, will provide a venue for First Nations’ people and others to learn a variety of diagnostic and other health care skills. In doing so, not only will the facility help address some of Ontario’s health human resource challenges, it will also be a vehicle to build new hope and opportunity for First Nations’ people.
The facility will also house GE Healthcare’s multi-disciplinary training centre.
