TORONTO, March 31 – The chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario will be available to comment on the announcement about the First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI) that the Honourable John Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, and the Honourable Michael Bryant, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs are expected to make on Tuesday morning. The Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario has been calling on the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada to provide long-term funding for the FNTI that is equal to the per-student funding for other post-secondary institutions in the province.

Information about the Federation’s recent campaigns and government relations efforts in support of the FNTI is available to be downloaded from the CFS-Ontario website: http://www.cfsontario.ca/english/campaigns.php?id=20

The Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario unites more than 300,000 college and university students across the province and more than 35 students’ unions.
