OTTAWA, July 3 – A national policy on cyberbullying and the release of a national public opinion poll on education are two of the topics to be addressed by delegates attending the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) Annual General Meeting (AGM), at the Delta Beauséjour in Moncton, New Brunswick, July 10-12, 2008.Delegates will also map out the organization’s budget and activities for the coming year. According to CTF President Emily Noble, the AGM theme Education… a Sea of Knowledge to Discover ties beautifully the geographic location of the AGM in New Brunswick to the inherent worth of teaching and learning.

“This year’s AGM is hosted by the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick (AEFNB), which is celebrating a milestone in its history. The year 2008 coincides with the 50th anniversary of the incorporation of the Association des instituteurs acadiens (AIA) (Association of Acadian Teachers), which led to the establishment of AEFNB in the late 1960s.

“We are certainly honored and pleased to celebrate this anniversary which marked the history of the Acadian teaching profession in New Brunswick,” explains Noble.

Here are sessions open to the media:
