Rallies and events in 33 cities and towns organized by students from 54 campuses shows growing movement against tuition fees and student debt

OTTAWA, Nov. 1, 2016  – On Wednesday, November 2, students from across the country are taking action as part of the Canadian Federation of Students’ campaign for free education.

Students, and more than 90 labour partners, will respond to decades of cuts to post-secondary education with rallies and events, escalating a longstanding call for investment in sector and universal access to education in Canada.

WHAT: 

Students are calling on the federal and provincial governments to take immediate action to eliminate tuition fees, address mounting student debt and increase funding for Indigenous students through the Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP).

WHO:

The Canadian Federation of Students, joined by labour unions, civil society organizations and community groups.
