Metis Bev has been performing in schools in the area this past week, giving students a cultural experience through story, song and dance.

She explains, through storytelling, how the Metis came to be as a result of the First Nations people interacting with European explorers and traders.

She explained how all Metis family names are recorded in a book, so all Metis can track their family roots. She also explained how each family has a different pattern in the sash that Metis wear as part of their traditional costume.
