INFO SESSION-SMALL BUSINESS CERT.PROGRAM

Miziwe Biik’s Aboriginal Business Resource Centre (ABRC) will be offering a Small Business Certificate program. The program is free to Aboriginal people.The program will offer twelve, three-hour sessions between 1.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. over a period of four weeks, starting Tuesday July 7 and concluding Thursday July 30, 2009.

An information session will be held regarding the course on Wednesday June 24, 2009 at 12.00 p.m. in the ABRC (lunch will be served). The ABRC is located on the second floor of Miziwe Biik at the 167 Gerrard Street East entrance, Toronto, ON.

The program will concentrate on the development of a draft business plan during the four weeks. In addition, variety of visiting subject matter experts will deliver relevant development on subjects, such as:

• Visioning your business plan’s mission statement
• Small business structures, registration and licences
• Marketing and promotion
• Making sales
• Business budgeting
• Pricing your product/service
• Sources of capital
• Small business administration and operation
• Networking

The certificate of completion allows participants to apply for community-based micro-loan and grant programs operated by Miziwe Biik, Aboriginal Business Canada, Alterna Savings, Canadian Youth Business Foundation and others.

Space is limited to a maximum of ten people.
