Montreal’s 375th anniversary celebrations – Official September 2017 program – Week of September 8 to 14, 2017 – Before last stop for la grande tournée!

MONTRÉAL, Sept. 7, 2017 – La Grande Tournée is moving into the enchanting setting of Lafontaine Park for its second to last stop. All citizens will be at the heart of the celebrations of their neighbourhood for this 18th get together!

Also, Montréal is host to an event that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People which will spotlight the wealth of indigenous cultures throughout the world.


La Grande Tournée
A major 375th event, La Grande Tournée, presented by Cirque Éloize, will be travelling from one end of the city to the other all summer long to celebrate its history and its people, have fun and live it up in our communities. It will give everyone who loves Montréal the chance to discover the city’s charms and secrets, celebrate with their families and get to know their neighbours. The fun will also spill out onto an adjacent street or back alley where other events also await.

10th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
Montreal celebrates the diversity of Indigenous peoples throughout the world! As part of the 10th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), many activities are organized at Old Port of Montreal and Palais des congrès. Outdoor concerts, dances and drums, panel discussions… Come discover and exchange on Indigenous realities.
