Morning Brief: Unresolved front line worker equipment issue worrying Ontario health professionals – iPolitics

Despite repeated assurances from the federal and provincial governments, front line health care workers in Ontario are growing increasingly wary of a dwindling supply of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Just three days after teaming with Ontario’s doctors to urge both levels of government of the need to replenish front line health care workers’ stash of PPE, the province’s nurses made another public call on Wednesday, stressing once again the need for more equipment.

In their most recent statement statement, the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) said they “must be prepared for an exponential increase in the demand for PPE assuming worst-case scenarios for the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The organizations representing Ontario’s as well as all of Canada’s doctors have also expressed concerns about the quantity of PPE.
