The death of a teenager on train tracks south of Brisbane has sparked marches by indigenous people of the community who are claiming racial tensions are running high.

Jackson Doolan, 17, was killed on Monday night when he got into a fight with three other people at a train station, jumped on the train tracks and was hit by a train.

Since then there have been marches through the streets of Logan, Woodridge and Loganlea as Aboriginal people in the communities claim racial tensions with the Pacific Islander community are at an all time high and had something to do with the death of Jackson.

On Wednesday, Jackson’s family met with police and it was reported the meeting was about racial tensions. The teenager’s mother Racheal Doonan was shown CCTV footage of her son’s death to quell rumours which have run rampant around the community.
