Native Child and Family Services of Toronto Seeks Board Members
Native Child and Family Services of Toronto is seeking both citizens and friends of the Native community of Toronto to sit on its Board of Directors for its fiscal year 2009/10. Elected at its Annual General Meeting to be held on June 23rd at its headquarters at 30 College Street, Board members will serve a minimum of one year from September 2009 to June 2010.This is a real opportunity for those interested in the welfare of Native children in Toronto to get involved in a dynamic and multifaceted organization that has accepted a sacred responsibility for this next generation.
Meetings of the full Board are held eight times annually. In addition Board members may be required to contribute to strategic planning and related governance activities. Executive members are expected to meet more often.
NCFST welcomes all interested but is particularly interested in those with experience serving on a Board. Those with legal, financial, cultural and social service experience are especially encouraged to put their names forward. Extensive training and orientation is provided to new and returning members.
Those interested need to apply by May 23rd to be considered for election in June.
