February 2012

There are some very interesting things going on at Next Alternative. First of all, we are extremely proud to announce that NAI has recently been awarded Aboriginal Status by the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. This honor allows NAI to enter into certain markets that otherwise would not be available to us. We will be able to hire native Canadians, while being able to better navigate the red tape that often accompanies doing business. Ultimately, we will further enhance our visibility and have greater access to capital markets. The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)has awarded a $25,000 grant to Dr. Omar Ramahi. Dr. Ramahi is a professor at Waterloo University and has been performing research alongside NAI chemists. This grant will allow Dr. Ramahi to continue his studies on harvesting electromagnetic energy within the micro-wave and ifra-red spectra. It is understood that photovoltaic-based technology relies on the direct availability of solar rays. Dr. Ramahi’s studies are geared at garnering evergy from the non-visible spectrum which is readily available both day and night. This offers the possibiliy of harnessing a greater amount of energy.

Next Alternative has signed a major deal with an Ontario-based silver mine to provide large quantities of Emulsion-Fuel. Canamet Resources currently runs its entire operation on diesel fuel. With NAI’s help, they will soon transfer to Emulsion-Fuel in an effort to improve efficiency and lower costs. NAI will be delivering 500,000 liters of the fuel per month to run the company’s generators, as well as all of its heavy equipment such as trucks, processing equipment and excavators. NAI is thrilled to see Canamet embrace this amazing technology and believes that other companies will follow their lead.

We at Next Alternative can definitely sense a shift occuring. Our technologies seem to be picking up steam and companies are taking notice of all the benefits that can be gained from employing our alternative solutions. We are very excited for what this year holds in store for us and our supporters. So stay tuned!
