Nomination Period for NTI Elections for Vice President
(October 18th, 2018 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Chief Returning Officer Nancy Karetak-Lindell today announced that the nomination period for NTI Election for Vice President runs from October 29 – November 2, 2018. Nomination forms can be obtained from the chief returning officer, community liaison officer, or from NTI’s website once the nomination period opens.
Eligible candidates must file their nomination papers with the chief returning officer no later than 5 p.m. local time, November 2, 2018. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that nomination papers are received. Candidates who do not have their nomination papers submitted by the deadline will not be permitted to run in the NTI Election for Vice President.
Eligible voters have five ways to vote:
- December 3, 2018 at advance polls
- December 4 – 7, 2018 by mobile poll
- December 10, 2018 in person
- December 10, 2018 by proxy vote with filled out applicable forms
- In receipt of mail ballot on or before December 10, 2018
Eligible candidates must be enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement, must be Canadian citizens, at least 16 years of age by December 10, 2018. Potential candidates may withdraw their nomination papers until 5 p.m. local time on November 5, 2018.
