NTI: President Kotierk reacts to tabling of GN mandate ‘Turaaqtavut’
(March 20, 2018 – Kugluktuk, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President, Aluki Kotierk today reacted to the tabling of the Government of Nunavut mandate ‘Turaaqtavut’ tabled by the 2nd sitting of the 5th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut.
“Focus and investments in mental health, Inuktut as a working language, and Inuit employment and training are paramount to achieving social, cultural and economic well-being of Inuit. As we embark on the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Nunavut Agreement this year, I am optimistic that we can have a productive and meaningful working relationship to achieve the implementation of the Nunavut Agreement”, said Kotierk.
NTI will be acutely observing how these priorities are resourced. NTI is poised to work closely with the Government of Nunavut to advocate for infrastructure investments including, housing, telecommunications, ports and roads.
