Oct. 30 — Mistake kept man in jail; Forty-five days became six months despite inmate’s pleas

A Saskatchewan man has just been released from jail after being mistakenly imprisoned for more than six months.

“I’m angry. I wasn’t supposed to be in there that long,” said Kyle Dufresne, a 19-year-old man from the Joseph Big Head First Nation, located 400 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon. Dufresne is also disappointed no official has called to apologize or offer assistance since he was released Oct. 15.
