Amidst the many programs and activities marking Environment Month, the Ontario Science Centre is proud to debut the new IMAX® film, To The Arctic. It features the poignant story of a mother polar bear and her two young cubs who navigate the changing wilderness they call home. Narrated by Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, the film opens April 20th at the Shoppers Drug Mart® OMNIMAX® Theatre.

“A recent study found that 84% of Canadians believe the Arctic environment is unspoiled and fragile and should be a priority region for protection in Canada”, said Lesley Lewis, CEO of the Ontario Science Centre. “This beautiful film will touch the hearts of Canadians of all ages”.An extraordinary journey to the top of the world, To The Arctic is the ultimate tale of survival. Captivating and intimate IMAX® footage brings moviegoers up close and personal with this family’s struggle to survive in a frigid environment of melting ice, immense glaciers, spectacular waterfalls, and majestic snow-capped peaks.

“Warner Bros. and IMAX share our commitment to bring audiences the highest quality documentary films that entertain and inspire,” said director Greg MacGillivray. “The film’s universal themes of love, hope and the power of family, as set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Arctic, is sure to capture the imagination of audiences everywhere.”
