The Southern Chiefs’ Organization is participating during Health Fair and Treaty Days within each community.

Peguis First Nation is hosting their Health Fair and Treaty Day on July 14, 2008. SCO will set up a booth, which shall provide important resource information and material regarding Pandemic Influenza for all of our constituents. In addition, an information booklet will be provided for children which includes a pencil and crayons. This fun and interactive package helps educate children on the importance of proper hand washing techniques, while preventing the spread of germs and viruses.

SCO will also be providing a fabulous door prize for each Health Fair and Treaty Day it participates in, which shall be drawn at the end of the Health Fair.

The door prize includes:

– A Southern Chiefs’ Organization Leather Ball Cap
– Southern Chiefs’ Organization golf balls and tees
– A Golf Shirt (or a dress shirt)
– SCO pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, note pads and other great merchandise

We invite all of our constituents to come out and join us. Also, please be sure to come by the SCO booth, pick up your material on Pandemic Influenza and enter your name to possibly win this great door prize.

SCO has already participated within Health Fair and Treaty Days at the following communities:

Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation – July 12, 2008

If your community is hosting a Health Fair and Treaty Day, SCO would like to be a part of this event. Please call the Southern Chiefs’ Organization at (204) 946 – 1869 and ask for the Pandemic Influenza Coordinator – Greg McVicker. Also, to ensure that we are able to attend and participate in your event, please be sure to call early so that arrangements may be made.

In addition, please be reminded that the H5N1 (Bird Flu) virus does NOT currently exist in Canada or the U.S.A., and that there is no Pandemic Influenza anywhere in the world at this time.

Meegwetch. Ekosi. Pilamaya. Thank You.
