VICTORIA — On Day 5 of no phone or 911 service, a man was forced to drive to Port Renfrew’s ambulance station a few kilometres away for help after his wife overdosed on pills. During the brief trip on icy roads, his car plunged down a bank and the father of five sustained serious injuries and may never walk again, said Port Renfrew’s fire chief.
