Polar Bear Safety Courses in NunatuKavut!

It’s polar bear season in NunatuKavut.

NCC’s Natural Resources staff will be holding four polar bear safety courses in conjunction with Derrick Pottle, BearSafe Planning. Derrick is from Rigolet, Nunatsiavut and has conducted this training across Canada. Topics in the full day course will include bear biology and distribution, preventing encounters, bear behaviour, detection and deterrents, and firearm safety. Each participant will receive a certificate of training. All dates are tentative (weather permitting).

  • St. Lewis, March 15
  • Charlottetown, March 16
  • Norman Bay, March 17
  • Black Tickle, March 19
