Recapture of inmate from Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village

At approximately 7:50 a.m. on September 22, 2017 inmate Ralph Radford Courchene returned to the institution and has been apprehended.

This inmate had escaped from Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village, a minimum security federal institution, on September 21, 2017.

While reviewing the circumstances of the escape, it was discovered that offender Jeremy Vojkovic had also participated in the escape. However, the offender returned to the institution within minutes and was present during the count at 18:30 p.m.

CSC is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ensuring the safety and security of institutions, staff, and public remains the highest priority in the operations of the federal correctional system.
