Request For Proposals Urban Multipurpose Aboriginal Youth Centre Initiative
2007/2008 Projects
Introduction
The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is pleased to announce a “Request For Proposals” (RFP) for the 2007/ 2008 Urban Multipurpose Aboriginal Youth Centre (UMAYC) Initiative, funded through the Department of Canadian Heritage. The goal of the UMAYC Initiative is to improve the economic, social and personal prospects of urban Aboriginal youth through the delivery of culturally relevant activities and projects.
In order to best deliver the UMAYC Initiative, completed UMAYC RFP applications are reviewed by the Métis Nation of Ontario Youth Council (MNOYC) in cooperation with the Provincial Youth Services Coordinator. The MNOYC make the appropriate recommendations and together they determine which proposals best fit the guiding UMAYC principles, and adhere to the criteria set by the Department of Canadian Heritage. Please note, it is the primarily the youth who will be the evaluating the proposals, for this reason, it is recommended that you have youth involvement in preparing the project application prior to submission.Program Objectives
