Ridings won’t help North much: NOP – The Sudbury Star

Adding a couple of seats in Northern Ontario will do little to give the region much of a voice in Queen’s Park, the Northern Ontario Party says.

The only way to do that is for the region’s voters to elect Northern Ontario Party MPPs during the next provincial election next summer, the separatist party said in a release.

“When you have so many seats to win in Toronto, it becomes the only priority of the big three parties; they know if they win Toronto they win the province,” the Northern Ontario Party said.

“There is no need for them to worry about any place else.”

Leader Trevor Holliday said what makes the Northern Ontario Party different is “our party is just concerned with representing the people of the North. If we get elected, mark our words, the North will be heard at Queen’s Park.”
