Hope helps believers to be open to the surprises God has in store for us.

(Pope Francis, Twitter, 06/04/17)

The season of Easter for Christians is a season of hope. The resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday affirms for us that God loves us so much that he made the ultimate sacrifice for us. When confronted with such an enormous love, how can we help but be hopeful! We will spend the next 50 days, up until Pentecost, celebrating that gift of love.

With the tabling of the new provincial budget, Edmonton Catholic Schools is pleased to have received a new school in The Orchards to help ease our enrolment pressures in southeast Edmonton and the major modernization of Ben Calf Robe/St. Clare Catholic Elementary/Junior High School (BCR). BCR offers exceptional language and culture opportunities for our First Nations, Métis and Inuit students. Many of you will be familiar with BCR because of their annual Traditional Powwow. We have once again partnered with the City of Edmonton to host this amazing celebration of spirituality and culture. This year’s event, the 36th annual Powwow, is being held on Saturday, May 13 from 1-10 pm at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre. Search @BenCalfRobeAnnualTraditionalPowWow on Facebook to learn more. All are welcome!
