SKTC: Millwright Training
Millwrights work in a large variety of industries, including mining, power generation and manufacturing. The program introduces students to the basics of the trade. Upon completion, the students will have learned new skills, understand the work of the Millwright trade and be better prepared to join the skilled workforce.
The course includes instruction on the installation and repair of industrial equipment, workplace safety and relevant OH&S requirements. Graduates will also receive the safety certifications needed to be employed in industry.
Employment as a millwright can lead to an apprenticeship and eventually to journeyperson status. Saskatchewan Apprenticeship prefers a complete grade 12 and to be eligible for apprenticeship you must have a complete grade 11 with a science, and a regular math.
