How do you instill values, culture, and knowledge into a community? Usually, it’s through telling and sharing stories…unless they are taken away.
Paul Chaput decided to forge research and film to advocate for the advancement of Indigenous communities through his film Planting Seeds, Feeding Communities.
“The title is a metaphor because a lot of Indigenous People have lost their stories, they’ve been taken from us.”
Chaput is a Métis artist and entrepreneur, completing his doctorate from Queens University in Human Geography, Chaput directed and produced his film and has brought an incredibly bright light to the Indigenous educators who for decades, and drove the creation and implementation of Native Studies curriculum in Ontario schools.
