Are you between the ages of 14 and 24 and have a passion for learning and the Arctic? If so, Students on Ice is looking for your application.

Students on Ice aims to connect youth from around the world with the Arctic through its annual educational expedition. Next year, the organization marks its 20th anniversary with an expedition through Nunatsiavut.

From July 5 to 20, more than 100 participants will journey through Newfoundland and Labrador, starting in St. John’s and ending in Iqaluit. The trip will stop in Nunatsiavut communities along the way. Places like Fogo Island and the Torngat Mountains National Park Base Camp and Research Station are also on the itinerary.

Youth will participate in land- and ship-based educational activities, learning about topics that range from climate change to youth engagement. It’s a multidisciplinary program, with scientists, elders, artists, dignitaries and historians serving as teachers.
