Award-winning journalist and author Tanya Talaga will be the speaker for this year’s MacClement Lecture at Duncan MacArthur Hall on Thursday, Sept. 26.
The author of Seven Fallen Feathers will speak to the Queen’s Faculty of Education about Indigenous education, health and the responsibility of Canadians to engage in reconciliation.
“Talaga, the first Ojibway woman to deliver the CBC Massey Lectures, powerfully shares Indigenous stories from across Canada and the world, humanizing the legacy of cultural genocide and sharing her hope for a more inclusive and equitable future,” a news release from Queen’s University states.
“This lecture will specifically highlight how the research she’s done can be applied to education and youth.”
