TAP Fall 2008 Grant Cycle Results

Thirty-five applications were received for the TAP Fall 2008 funding cycle, totalling $283,205 in requests. Thirteen organizations were approved for support. Decisions are still pending on two organizations.The successful organizations were:

o Cariboo Friendship Society to develop a 5-year strategic plan
o Head of the Lake School (Sta’lha’lem School Society) to develop a strategic plan
o Hulitan Social Services Society to develop a comprehensive HR training program
o It’s Up To You Recovery House Society (IUTY) to complete an organizational assessment and develop an action plan
o KAYA – Knowledgeable Aboriginal Youth Association to develop an organizational strategic plan
o Kootenay Aboriginal Business Advocates Society to develop a strategic plan
o ‘Namgis Treatment Centre to develop a strategic plan
o QQS (Eyes) Projects Society to improve Board governance and develop a realistic work plan
o Saanich First Nations Adult Care Society to conduct an organizational assessment
o Spirit of the Children to develop a strategic plan
o The Native Courtworker and Counselling Association of BC to develop a 2-year strategic plan
o The Vi Fineday Family Shelter Society to develop strategic and financial plans to start a transition house
o Upper Island Women of Native Ancestry to complete an organizational assessment and develop an action plan
