The BC Sports Hall of Fame is heading on the road to Prince George, British Columbia this February 14 and 15

VANCOUVER, BC (February 13, 2014): The BC Sports Hall of Fame is pleased to be a part of community celebrations in Prince George for the 1 year countdown to the 2015 Canada Winter Games. “The 1 year countdown celebration is the ideal opportunity to share our vision of Honouring the Past and Inspiring the Future outside the Lower Mainland” shares Executive Director Allison Mailer, “The BC Sports Hall of Fame may be located in Vancouver, but our Honoured Members are from every region of the province. We believe in sharing their exceptional sport stories with all British Columbians and look forward to this visit to Prince George and next week’s visit to Mission, British Columbia. We would like to thank our partners at the 2015 Canada Winter Games, ViaSport and the Province of BC for helping to make this outreach experience possible.” 

During the February 14 and 15 visit to Prince George, the BC Sports Hall of Fame will be: 

· Delivering our Hero In You Youth Education Program at four local schools www.heroinyou.ca 
· Exhibiting during the community celebration at Kin1 including: 
o Sport in BC – Choose Your Path travelling exhibit and interactive game 
o Aboriginal Sport Gallery travelling display 
o Winter sport artifacts 
o BC Sports Hall of Famer profiles from the region 
o Fun giveaways 

About the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum 
The BC Sports Hall of Fame is located at Gate “A” of BC Place with an inspiring Hall of Champions, Vancouver 2010 Gallery and many other exceptional galleries. The BC Sports Hall of Fame, a non-profit society, is the ‘go to’ organization for BC sport heritage. For over 40 years, we have honoured BC’s teams, builders, athletes, pioneers, and media through the annual induction ceremony the Banquet of Champions.
