Steve Molitor to defend his I.B.F. World Junior Featherweight Title in Rumble at Rama IV

MNJIKANING (RAMA), ON, Feb. 13 – Orion Sports Management and Casino Rama are pleased to present the Rumble at Rama IV on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 in which the undefeated champion “The Canadian Kid” Steve Molitor will make the second mandatory defense of his I.B.F. World Junior Featherweight Title.

In the Title Match of the night, reigning champion Molitor, whose record improved to an impressive 26-0, 10 kos during the Rumble at Rama III, will put his title on the line against Mexico’s fierce Fernando Beltran Jr. (30-2-1, 17 kos) the no. 1 ranked I.B.F. contender and his most daunting challenger to date. Molitor claimed the I.B.F. Junior Featherweight Title in 2006 from the previously unbeaten Michael Hunter in Hartlepool, England. He mounted his first successful mandatory defense of the title, here at home during the Rumble at Rama I against South Africa’s Takalani Ndlovu in a crushing 9-round victory. His second successful defense came against Thailand’s Fashung “3K Battery” in a grueling 12-round decision during the Rumble at Rama II. His most recent battle against Mexico’s Ricardo “Piolo” Castillo came this past January during the Rumble III, in a fierce 12-round unanimous decision that saw the bloodied champ battle back against the fading and desperate Mexican fighter.

In addition to the Title Match, the Rumble at Rama IV will also feature a number of undercard bouts, including a Heavyweight fight featuring former Polish amateur star, Greg Kielsa and the return of the fighting Irishman Martin Lindsay the I.B.F. World Featherweight Youth champion, who won his last match during the Rumble III in a staggering knockout at 1:45 of the first round. Martin will be defending his current I.B.F. World Title, won during the Rumble II, against a soon to be announced contender.

Held in Casino Rama’s state-of-the-art 5,200 seat Entertainment Centre, this match is the fourth of many such planned boxing events and has firmly established the Casino as the premier venue in which to see the Big Time Excitement of a world-class fight in Ontario.

The Rumble at Rama IV taking place on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 will begin at 7:00pm with the undercard bouts; the main Title Match taking place at 10pm and broadcast live on TSN and TSN HD coast to coast.

Tickets for this event will be $125, $75, $50 and $25. Tickets for the Rumble at Rama IV go on-sale Saturday, February 16th at 12 noon, and will be available in-person at the Casino Rama Box Office, all TicketMaster locations, by calling (416) 870-8000 and online at www.casinorama.com.
