Employment Insurance, May 2019
In May, 441,300 people received regular Employment Insurance benefits, similar to the previous month. Decreases in Alberta, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island were offset by increases in Quebec and Ontario.

Experimental estimates of Canada’s international trade in services are now available upon request. This month’s release includes data for May, as well as revised figures for January to April 2019.
Construction Union Wage Rate Index, June 2019
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index (including supplements) for Canada was unchanged in June compared with the previous month. The index for all trades (including supplements) rose 0.2% over the 12-month period ending in June.
Canadian potato production, June 2019
Potato farmers planted 360,543 acres (145 906 hectares) of potatoes in 2019, up 3.3% from 2018.

Today, Statistics Canada is launching the new Dimensions of Poverty Hub. The Hub, sponsored by Employment and Social Development Canada, enables Canadians to track progress on poverty reduction.
